A big thank you to everyone that took part in our recent concert at Sheffield Cathedral. We needed more room and more tickets which was wonderful! Steve really enjoyed rehearsing and directing you.
As we write this newletter 84 singers from Merseyside, North West and North East are on their way down to take part in the Channel 5 talent show Don't Stop Believing and will be performing live on Sunday at 7pm. We are currently recruiting for the following events;
NEW SINGING DAY - Just announced!
Saturday 28th August, The Civic Hall, Stratford-Upon-Avon
Come and have a day learning The Requiem by Karl Jenkins which was first recorded and performed in 2005 and premiered at Southwark Cathedral. Following on from last years singing day which explored The Armed Man, this day will be the same format and will be just as exciting and moving. The day will be led by Musical Director Steve Roberts who really enjoys these occasions when he can share his passion with so many of you.There will be a free concert in the evening. Places will be limited and we anticipate that demand will be high as with the other singing days so apply early if possible. It will appear on the internet over the next few days or you can register or get an application form from the office.
DAYTIME YORK - Starts 3rd September St Luke's Church, Burton Stone Lane, York.
If you prefer to sing in the daytime and can get to York you will be very welcome to join the daytime sessions of The Armed Man that start on 3rd September for eight sessions to be held on a Friday from 1000-1200. You will be able to perform in one of the Armed Man concerts that are taking place either in York Minster, The Royal Armouries or if you prefer Coventry Cathedral. click here to join
THE ARMED MAN CONCERTS - Still recruiting
The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins will be performed for the first time in the place where it was commissioned The Royal Armouries in Leeds on Sunday 7th November. In addition to this concert we are also performing in York Minster on Friday 29th October and also as part of the Remembrance Weekend at Coventry Cathedral on Friday 12th November. Rehearsals for the above will take place as follows; Daytime in York, Four full days in Leeds or four full days in Moseley, Birmingham (the full days are on a weekend). If you are interested and have not yet registered please let us know as soon as you can as we are limited on numbers. You will be guaranteed your first choice of concert and may be invited to perform again in your second or third choice. click here
THE BEATLES STORY, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE - sing hits from the fab4!
Sing Live North East are looking for people that would like to take part in The Beatles Story on Sunday 21st November at Newcastle City Hall. Rehearsals start on 2nd September. We have performed this concert already in other areas which have been really well received. click here for more details.
SING LIVE PERFORM AT CLIFTON CATHEDRAL - Gospel
Newly formed Sing Live South West are looking for new members to take part in a concert at Clifton Cathedral on Saturday 27th November. It will be a concert of uplifting and inspirational music that has been so popular in other regions performing hits including Amazing Grace, Rivers of Babylon, Something Inside So Strong performed by a large choir. THE BEATLES STORY - NOTTINGHAM
We are happy to announce that the next concert for East Midlands and South Yorkshire will be at The Albert Hall in Nottingham. Another first for Sing Livers to perform in the historic grand and ornate Great Hall. We would love to make our first concert in this fantastic venue a very special evening by having a large choir to do it justice. You will be following in the footsteps of the choirs at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and The Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool where they had standing ovations and the audiences were singing Hey Jude in the aisles! DISNEY / THE VATICAN
Sing Live are performing once again in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot in the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida for the eighth year. We have also been invited to perform in Tampa Bay. booking information
The Vatican - Sing Live are performing in The Mass for the second time at St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, Rome on Satuday 9th October. If you are still interested please phone the office for more information. You may travel from a local airport and we will arrange the accomodation for you. Thank you for your continued support.
